The Washington Health Alliance’s (Alliance) new quality composite score provides a streamlined approach to compare the overall quality of health care across Washington state. This new methodology can be applied to different populations and different measures of care quality. The initial focus for this new methodology is at the county and Accountable Communities of Health (ACH) levels.
As is typical of the Alliance’s measurement and reporting work, it is aligned with national standards and guided by its members. This measure is no different. The quality composite score utilizes measures that are aligned with national standards and was developed with input from clinical leaders who are members of the Alliance’s Quality Improvement and Health Economics Committees.
