Will Sustain and Advance U.S. Healthcare Transformation Regionally
PORTLAND, Maine – May 22, 2014 – The Network for Regional Healthcare Improvement (NRHI), a leader in transforming U.S. healthcare, announced today that it received funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) to develop and direct the Collaborative Health Network, a network designed to engage communities across the U.S. and to accelerate their healthcare-transformation initiatives.
“The Collaborative Health Network will be a powerful mechanism to support and accelerate the ability of people across the country to transform healthcare,” says Elizabeth Mitchell, NRHI’s President and CEO. “We will build on the strong connections of our member Collaboratives and their close work with physicians, employers, patients and others who are deeply involved in healthcare transformation in their communities. NRHI is already a vibrant network of innovation and we want to expand to be a network of networks. We need to facilitate alignment and partnership with all groups working to make healthcare better.”
“The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation thanks all the individuals dedicated to transforming local and state health systems who helped inspire the Collaborative Health Network,” adds Hilary Heishman, Program Officer for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. “We are pleased that this network will provide the multi-stakeholder collaboratives in Aligning Forces for Quality and other important regional health improvement initiatives a great opportunity to continue to work together and learn from one another”
The creation of this one-stop peer network of information, resources and innovative ideas marks one of the first times that a healthcare network seeks consensus and provides practical, actionable information to assist communities in fostering a national culture of health and an informed path to U.S. healthcare transformation.
