Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) and Interoperability Learning Lab Series Session #3

In our third session, Sara Singleton from NASDOH will provide a SDoH focused policy briefing.

Additionally, Waldo Mikels-Carrasco of the Indiana Health Information Exchange and Jennifer Faries of MyHealth Access Network will share the results and key takeaways of SHIEC’s recent national survey of HIEs aimed at assessing how they are using SDoH data.

Session #2 Key Takeaways and Materials:

Last week, during our second SDoH Learning Lab session participants heard from Heidi McPherson of the Health Equity Collective as she shared the vision of the Collective to learn faster and govern smarter using the 5 Components of Collective Impact and the Framework for Achieving Better Health Together.

Additionally Dr. Anjum Khurshid of the University of Texas Austin and Leading Edge Acceleration Project (LEAP) Health IT Awardee, shared information regarding their FHIR-enabled Social and Health Information Platform developed to be a “closed loop” social services referral management system.
