SAN: Navigating Payment Reform Module 2: Preparing Providers for MIPS: Focus on Improvement Activities
Passed in April 2015, MACRA is one of the most significant pieces of healthcare-related federal legislation that we’ve seen in at least a decade. It holds enormous transformative potential for payment reform efforts, but it’s also complex to understand and put into practice.
Learning objectives for this module included:
-Understanding the basics of MIPS Improvement Activities, particularly for the 2017 transition year, and how easy it is for clinicians to succeed in meeting scoring requirements for this MIPS performance category
-Understanding the basics of the new Patient and Family Engagement measures that will be required for all TCPi members to make progress on by the summer of 2017 and how these measures support high performance under MIPS; tools to support Improvement Activities for these measures will be highlighted.
-Hearing two specific examples of Improvement Activities from members of the NNE-PTN, including understanding direct improvements to clinical care and patient outcomes as a result of focused improvement work
Unless otherwise noted, all virtual NRHI events are hosted in Eastern Standard time.
