HealthInsight Oregon featured in May Edition of ‘The Scribe’ for Total Cost of Care Work

The Medical Society of Metropolitan Portland featured HealthInsight Oregon in the May edition of their publication: The Scribe. The article features HealthInsight Oregon’s work with total cost of care reporting, and highlights quotes from Executive Director, Mylia Christensen, and Senior Director of Affordability and Transparency, Meredith Tomasi. HealthInsight Oregon’s findings from NRHI’s Benchmark Report Healthcare Affordability: Untangling Cost Drivers” are discussed in the article at length.

“The biggest variation among the five states was for inpatient care. Hospital prices were 16 percent higher in Oregon and Colorado, compared with 12 percent below average in Maryland and 14 percent below average in Utah.”
