Regional Healthcare Improvement Expert to Testify on MACRA and Alternative Payment Models

Elizabeth Mitchell, President and CEO of the Network for Regional Healthcare Improvement (NRHI) will testify before the House Energy & Commerce Health Subcommittee at a hearing titled “MACRA and Alternative Payment Models: Developing Options for Value-Based Care.” Mitchell will testify in her capacity as vice chair of the Physician-Focused Payment Technical Advisory Committee (PTAC), along with Dr. Jeffrey Bailet, the chair of PTAC.

Mitchell, who leads a national organization representing 30+ regional health improvement collaboratives, will focus her remarks on how the PTAC process can accelerate the development and testing of innovative payment models to move physicians and clinicians toward a value-based healthcare system, and address the challenges and barriers that exist in the current PTAC process, including physician readiness.
