Common Ground Health To Host a Dynamic, National Expert on Team-Based Care
On September 8, the Common Ground Health Practice Transformation team will bring Kirsten Meisinger, a nationally recognized expert on team-based care, to Rochester, NY. A family doctor and faculty member at Harvard’s School of Public Health, Dr. Meisinger will share the lessons she and her colleagues have learned at Union Square Family Health Center, a 7,500 patient safety-net practice in Boston that has been successful meeting and maintaining quality goals for cancer screenings, diabetes and depression treatment for over five years. Meisinger credits high functioning teams as the cornerstone for delivering quality care, especially to vulnerable populations, including immigrants and uninsured patients.
The four-hour workshop with Meisinger and her colleague, Nurse Nitzali Rivera, includes breakout sessions, instruction on identifying and keeping track of patients and advice on maintaining quality. Held at the Monroe County Medical Society, the event qualifies for Continuing Medical Education credits and is free. Register online here.
