The 8th Annual Health Datapalooza was held Thursday and Friday, April 27-28, 2017. The event brought together a diverse audience of more than 1,600 people from the public and private sectors to learn how health and healthcare can be improved by harnessing the power of data.

Tom Price, Secretary, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) gave the opening remarks. U.S. Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (R-TX), one of the authors of The Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA), also spoke.

NRHI President and CEO, Elizabeth Mitchell, moderated a panel “Navigating Cost Transparency – Don’t Go It Alone!” that featured leaders from several NRHI member organizations and state-affiliated partners:

  • Craig Brammer, CEO – The Health Collaborative
  • Mary Jo Condon, Senior Director, Partnerships and Projects – Midwest Health Initiative
  • Cecilia Ganduglia Cazaban, MD, DrPH, Assistant Professor of Management, Policy and Community Health – UTHealth
  • Jonathan Mathieu, PhD, Vice President of Research and Compliance and Chief Economist – Center for Improving Value in Health Care (CIVIHC)

Kristin Paulson, JD, MPH, Director of Health Care Programs for NRHI member organization CIVIHC was part of a panel entitled “Medicaid Innovations and Delivery System Reform”.
