Passed in April 2015, MACRA is one of the most significant pieces of healthcare-related federal legislation that we’ve seen in at least a decade. It holds enormous transformative potential for payment reform efforts, but it’s also complex to understand and put into practice.
The Network for Regional Healthcare Improvement’s Navigating Payment Reform series provides Practice Transformation Networks and their providers with information on Quality Payment Program (QPP) requirements and national and regional perspectives for succeeding in value based-payment environments.
In the third module in this series, Tina Frontera from Minnesota Community Measurement (MNCM) helped participants plan for adopting Patient Reported Outcomes (PRO) Measures as well as insights on choosing PRO Measures for MIPS reporting and preparing your practices for short and long-term success with these measures.
Learning objectives for this module included:
- Understanding the importance of clinics moving from process to outcome measures
- Understanding how to plan for getting MIPS credit for PRO Measures
- Hearing lessons learned from MNCM about implementing PRO Measures
- Learning about PRO measures for which MNCM is the measure steward and how these measures can be adopted in practice
- Depression Care
- Asthma Control
- Total Knee Replacement
This module is appropriate for clinics and others involved in planning clinic-based measures (consultants, Data Analysts, IT Programmers, etc.), providers, and PTN staff focusing on continuous, data-driven quality improvement andsustainable business operations.
